Clinical Psychologist
Bio
Valerie Ephrem is our licensed clinical psychologist and a member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists (LOPSY). She works with children, teenagers, and adults through individual psychological support and psychotherapy sessions. She also provides psychological assessments and parental guidance tailored to the needs of each client and family. Her clinical work addresses a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and psychological difficulties, including anxiety disorders, panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, anger-management concerns, trauma and abuse, personality disorders, and suicidality. She also supports children experiencing anxiety, emotional and behavioral regulation difficulties, ADHD, and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). Valerie primarily adopts a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, adapting interventions to each client’s age, needs, developmental level, and therapeutic goals. When working with children, she integrates developmentally appropriate play-based techniques and storytelling to facilitate emotional expression, strengthen engagement, and help children understand and manage their experiences in a safe and accessible way. Through a compassionate, structured, and collaborative approach, Valerie aims to create a safe and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment in which clients can better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward improved psychological wellbeing. With children and teenagers, she focuses on strengthening emotional awareness, self-regulation, resilience, and healthy development. With adults, she supports greater self-understanding, adaptive coping, and meaningful change. She also collaborates with parents to enhance communication, establish healthy boundaries, respond more effectively to their children’s needs, and foster a supportive family environment.
