Course Description
Relationship Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (ROCD) is a subtype of OCD characterized by intrusive doubts and obsessive concerns related to romantic relationships. These thoughts often lead to significant emotional distress and compulsive behaviours such as reassurance-seeking, comparison, and repeated analysis of feelings or partner qualities.
This 1.5-hour online training introduces participants to the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) understanding and treatment approach for ROCD.
The session will cover key components, including:
• Understanding the cognitive-behavioural model of ROCD
• Identifying intrusive thoughts and obsessive doubt patterns
• Recognizing compulsive behaviours such as reassurance-seeking and mental checking
• Differentiating between healthy relationship concerns and ROCD symptoms
• CBT strategies for exposure and response prevention (ERP) in ROCD
• Techniques to reduce rumination and improve tolerance of uncertainty
Participants will gain practical CBT tools to better understand and address ROCD, and to support individuals experiencing relationship-related obsessive doubts in a structured, evidence-based way.
This workshop is designed for mental health professionals, psychology students, and individuals interested in OCD-related presentations and CBT interventions.
